We were excited to welcome Professor Bessong (University of Venda) to UVA this week. Prof. Bessong is also an UVA Alumni and the mentor of Muthethwa Munzhedzi, a fellow in the Global Infection Diseases Research Training Program studying Malaria rate of transfection and genetic characterization in South Africa at both University of Venda and University of Virginia.
