Carline Webb, mentored by Noah Brown, and Mary Lewis Simpson, mentored by Shiwei Liu, have been selected to receive GIDID awards this summer. The GIDI-UP Summer Research Award is awarded to undergraduates with graduate mentors and doing research matching GIDI's mission. Caroline and Noah are working on the Evaluation of Resistance Markers in Malaria infections from Mozambique. Mary Lewis and Shiwei are working on the Detection of Sub-Populational Copy Number Variations (CNVs) using Nanopore Long Read Sequencing in Malaria Parasites. Congratulations to all!
