Audrey Brown and Shiwei Liu were invited to talk and present a poster at John Hopkins Malaria Research Instiute's 4th Annual Future of Malaria Research. The Symposium's purpose is to promote new scientists in the malaria research field. Audrey gave the first talk of the event. The talk was about her new SLOPE method of purifying ring stage parasites from uninfected RBC's. Shiwei's poster was on whole genome amplification method for copy number variation (CNV) detection in P. falciparum. They both did very well in representing The UVA Guler Malaria Lab in Baltimore this year.
