Shiwei Liu recently passed her qualifying exams! She presented her exam purposal at HOP on Science. Her project in "Detection of Copy Number Variation Rate in Plasmodium falciparum Using Single Cell Sequencing." The project analyzes copy number variation at the single Plasmodium falciparum parasite level, with the aim to understand the mechanism of copy number variation formation and its role in antimalarial resistance. Unltimately, we hope to develop novel strategies to block the development of antimalarial resistance.
